Run from Selden, Suffolk County
We run this site from Selden, in Suffolk County, and we built it because the directories that rank for Long Island movers do not answer the first question: is this company licensed, and for what. So we looked up all 38 companies on FMCSA’s SAFER system on 21 October 2026 and read each record by hand.
24 hold authorized interstate carrier authority, 9 have an active USDOT number with no interstate authority on file, 4 returned no record we could tie to the site, and 1 prints a number SAFER lists as inactive. We then read every company’s own website and wrote down what it prints. Only 4 print a price for a move. Nothing on this site is averaged, scored or ranked. Every figure carries a source label and a date, and every company is linked to its own site.
Every company went through the same four steps, and SAFER’s own as of date was kept alongside our read date.
There are no star ratings and no review counts anywhere on this site, from any source. There is no paid placement. The order of companies inside each county is the order we read the records.
Two things we could not check, and say so on every page where it matters. FMCSA’s Licensing and Insurance system would not return results on 21 October 2026, so insurance on file is marked could not check for all 38. NYSDOT’s CarCert search was marked under development, so the New York State certificate is marked could not check for all 38, with the phone number and email that will confirm it.
A listing is free. Paying for anything never changes a company’s position, and there is nothing to pay for. To be listed a mover needs to be based in Nassau or Suffolk, or to say on its own website that it serves Long Island, in which case the page will say where it is actually based.
We will read your federal record ourselves and print what it says with the date. If the record and your site disagree, we print both.
A correction takes one email. Tell us which page, which line and what the record or your site says instead, and we will re-read the source and fix the line with a note of the date. If a SAFER record has changed since 21 October 2026, send the USDOT number and we will read it again. We print what the government record says on the date we read it, and we will print the new date just as plainly.
Every company page already carries this route. We do not remove a record line because a company would prefer a different one, but we will always print the current record and the company’s own statement beside it.
